By train — the best way
Shegaon railway station (station code SEG) lies on the Bhusawal–Badnera section of the Mumbai–Howrah main line, so a large number of long-distance express trains halt here daily. There are direct trains from Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Bhusawal, Akola and many cities beyond Maharashtra.
From Mumbai the journey is roughly 8–10 hours; from Nagpur around 4–5 hours; from Pune around 8–9 hours depending on the train. Overnight trains work well — you arrive in the morning, take darshan the same day, and stay the night.
The Sansthan runs a free bus service between the railway station and the mandir area for pilgrims. Autos are also available at the station at nominal fares — the mandir is about 2 km away.
By road
- Shegaon is about 8 km off National Highway 53 (the old NH-6, Surat–Nagpur road), via Khamgaon.
- From Nagpur: ~280 km, around 5–6 hours by car.
- From Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar): ~150 km, around 3–4 hours.
- From Mumbai or Pune: 480–550 km — most families prefer the overnight train instead.
- MSRTC buses connect Shegaon with Khamgaon, Akola, Buldhana and other nearby towns through the day.
By air
The nearest major airport is Nagpur (Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport), roughly 280 km away, followed by Aurangabad at about 150 km. From either airport, continue by train or taxi. Akola, about 40 km away, has limited regional connectivity.
