The Shegaon room price list
Below is the approximate per-night guidance tariff for the eight room categories we arrange at Shegaon. Every category, with descriptions and photographs, is also on the rooms and tariff page.
- Non-AC 2 Bed — approx ₹1,450. Two beds, non-AC; a basic clean stay for two devotees on a budget.
- 2 Bed Standard — approx ₹1,850. Two beds, non-AC, better appointed; for couples or two travelling devotees.
- AC Standard — approx ₹1,950. Two beds with air-conditioning; the most requested summer category.
- Single Bed AC — approx ₹2,050. A private air-conditioned room for a solo traveller.
- Non-AC 4 Bed Family — approx ₹2,250. Four beds, non-AC; budget-friendly for families and groups.
- AC 4 Bed Family — approx ₹2,550. Four beds with air-conditioning; ideal for families with elders or children.
- Deluxe — approx ₹3,250. A larger air-conditioned room with better furnishing for a longer, more comfortable stay.
- Super Deluxe — approx ₹4,550. The most comfortable category, suited to senior citizens and extended visits.
A category-by-category walkthrough
It helps to understand why the tariff climbs the way it does across the eight categories — each step up buys something specific.
The budget tier: ₹1,450–₹1,850
The Non-AC 2 Bed and 2 Bed Standard rooms are the entry point. Both are twin rooms without air-conditioning; the difference is largely in furnishing and finish. For two devotees making a short winter visit, this tier is often all you need, and it keeps the trip genuinely inexpensive.
The AC tier: ₹1,950–₹2,550
Adding air-conditioning is the single biggest reason the price moves, and it is money well spent in the Vidarbha summer. The AC Standard and Single Bed AC serve couples and solo travellers, while the Non-AC and AC 4 Bed Family rooms bring the whole family under one roof. The AC 4 Bed Family room is the workhorse of summer family trips.
The comfort tier: ₹3,250–₹4,550
The Deluxe and Super Deluxe rooms trade up for space, better furnishing and an easier stay — the natural choice for a longer visit, or for families travelling with senior citizens who value comfort. The step up in price buys a noticeably more restful base for your darshan.
What each rate includes
A pilgrim-room tariff at Shegaon covers the essentials of a clean, comfortable stay rather than hotel-style extras. In general, the rate includes the room for the stated occupancy, clean bedding, an attached washroom, and — in the AC categories — working air-conditioning. What it does not include is room service, in-room dining or resort amenities; Bhakta Niwas and pilgrim lodging deliberately stay simple so the price stays low. When you receive a quote, it is always worth asking exactly what is bundled in, so there are no surprises at check-in.
What affects the price
The reason a single fixed price cannot be published for every date is that a few real factors move the tariff:
- Room category. AC, bed count and furnishing are the biggest drivers — the range from Non-AC 2 Bed to Super Deluxe is more than threefold for exactly this reason.
- Season. The hot months push demand toward AC rooms, and peak pilgrimage periods raise demand across the board.
- Availability on your dates. When the town is full, the rooms that remain are naturally the higher categories.
- Length of stay and group size. These shape which category makes sense and, sometimes, the overall cost.
Per room or per person?
This deserves its own section because it causes more confusion than anything else in Shegaon bookings. The guidance rates on this page are per room, per night, for the stated number of beds — not per person. When you get a quote from anyone, confirm this explicitly, so you are comparing like with like and there is no misunderstanding when you arrive.
Festival and weekend rates
Prices and availability both tighten around Shegaon’s busiest dates. Expect stronger demand around Prakat Din in February, Ram Navami, the Samadhi Din period around Rishi Panchami in September, and on long weekends through the year. The practical response is simple: for these dates, book earlier. A room that is straightforward to arrange on a quiet weekday can be scarce during a festival, and booking ahead is the surest way to keep both the room and the cost under control. How to compare quotes
If you gather more than one quote, compare them on equal terms rather than on the headline number alone. Two quotes can look different but mean the same thing, or look similar and hide a real gap. When you compare, line up four things: the room category and bed count, whether the rate is per room or per person, what is included (AC, bedding, attached washroom, hot water), and the check-in and check-out times that define a “night”. A slightly higher quote that includes AC and a clear 24-hour check-out can be better value than a lower one that does not.
Hidden costs to check for
Pilgrim accommodation at Shegaon is refreshingly straightforward, but it is always worth asking a few questions so nothing surprises you at check-in:
- Is there any extra charge for an additional guest or an extra mattress?
- Is a security deposit taken at check-in, and is it refundable?
- Are the quoted taxes, if any, included in the figure or added separately?
- What is the early check-in or late check-out policy, if you need one?
Asking these upfront is normal and expected — a good booking is a clear one.
Getting value for your budget
Getting good value at Shegaon is less about chasing the lowest number and more about matching the room to your group. A few honest pointers:
- For a short winter visit by a couple, a 2 Bed Standard gives comfort without paying for AC you will not use.
- For a summer family trip, an AC 4 Bed Family room is usually better value than booking two smaller rooms.
- For elders, the comfort of a Deluxe or AC room is often worth the modest step up in price.
- Travelling on a weekday, where possible, eases both price and darshan queues.
Paying an advance safely
For firm dates, and especially around busy periods, a room is usually held against an advance. This is normal — it is what stops a held room from being given away — but pay it the right way. The amount and the cancellation terms should be stated in your written confirmation before you transfer anything, and you should pay only to the account named there. Keep the confirmation message and the payment receipt together; between them they are your complete record if any question arises later. The balance is typically settled at check-in.

A worked example: a family of four
To make the numbers concrete, imagine a family of four — two parents, two children — travelling in May for a two-night stay. In peak summer, comfort matters, so an AC 4 Bed Family room at roughly ₹2,550 a night is the natural fit: everyone in one room, air-conditioned against the Vidarbha heat, for about ₹5,100 across two nights. Compared with booking two separate smaller rooms, a single family room is usually both cheaper and easier to manage with children.
The same family travelling in December, when nights are pleasant, might choose a Non-AC 4 Bed Family room at about ₹2,250 and be perfectly comfortable, trimming the cost further. This is the practical logic behind the tariff: pick the category the season and the group actually call for, and Shegaon remains an inexpensive pilgrimage even for a full family. Official charges vs assisted rates
It is worth being clear about two different things. The Shri Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan runs its own Bhakta Niwas complexes with rooms at nominal, trust-set charges, booked directly through the Sansthan’s official channels. The rates on this page are for assisted private stays we arrange when official rooms are full or a family wants a particular comfort level. Seasonal price patterns through the year
Beyond individual festival spikes, room prices at Shegaon follow a broad seasonal rhythm that is worth understanding when you plan.
Peak: festival periods and winter weekends
The busiest and priciest windows cluster around Prakat Din in February, Ram Navami, and Samadhi Din in September, plus pleasant-weather winter weekends. Demand is high across every category, so book early and expect firmer rates.
Shoulder: summer weekdays
In the summer months, weekday demand eases even as AC rooms stay sought-after. If you can travel midweek, this is often a good balance of availability and value — just choose an AC category for comfort in the heat.
Value: ordinary weekdays outside festivals
The best value of all is a plain weekday away from any festival. Rooms are easy to find in every category, rates are at their calmest, and darshan queues are short. For a flexible traveller, this is the sweet spot — a comfortable room and an unhurried visit for the least outlay.

Confirming your tariff safely
Whatever the number, the habit that protects you is the same. Before paying, get the room category, exact dates, guest count, final amount and check-in timing in writing, and keep a screenshot. Pay only to the account named in that confirmation, never to an unverified number, and never make a Sansthan donation to a personal account. Do this and the price you agreed is the price you pay.
