Booking a Shegaon room in three steps
Booking a room in Shegaon does not need to be complicated. Most devotees are arranging the trip on a phone, often for elders and children too, so we keep the whole process to three simple steps — a quick enquiry, a written confirmation, and then your arrival for darshan of Shri Gajanan Maharaj.
Step 1 — Send your enquiry
Call or WhatsApp with your dates and group details. You do not need to decide the exact room category yourself; just tell us how many people are travelling and whether you want air-conditioning, and we will suggest what fits.
Step 2 — Get it in writing
We check what is available for your dates and reply with a suggested room, the exact tariff, the check-in and check-out timing, and directions. This written confirmation — normally on WhatsApp — is your record, so keep it.
Step 3 — Arrive and check in
Travel to Shegaon, present your ID proof at check-in, and you are done. We stay reachable through your stay in case anything needs adjusting.
What to keep ready before you call
A two-minute call is enough if you have a few details ready. Having these on hand lets us check availability and quote accurately on the first attempt, instead of going back and forth.

Choosing the right category
A couple travelling in winter is well served by a 2 Bed Standard room; a family with grandparents in the summer heat will be far more comfortable in an AC 4 Bed Family or Deluxe room. Ways to book
There are three ways devotees reach us, and each suits a slightly different situation.
By phone
Calling is fastest for same-day and next-day needs, and best if you want to talk through options for a large family group. It is also the easiest for elders who prefer a voice to a keypad.
By WhatsApp

By email

When to book: seasons and festivals
Timing your booking well is the difference between a relaxed arrival and a scramble. Shegaon’s busy periods are predictable, and rooms fill fastest around them.
- Prakat Din (February)— the celebration of the Maharaj’s first appearance draws huge crowds.
- Ram Navami and other major festival days bring a strong surge of pilgrims.
- Samadhi Din / Rishi Panchami (September) — one of the most significant dates at Shegaon.
- Weekends and long weekends through the year are consistently busier than weekdays.

Understanding the tariff
Room rates published anywhere online — including on this site — are planning guidance, not fixed quotes. The final tariff for your dates depends on the season and on how full the town is, which is why we confirm the exact figure in writing before you pay. When you get that quote, it is worth checking two things explicitly: whether the rate is per room or per person, and what is included (AC, bedding for every guest, attached washroom, hot water).
What happens on check-in day
Knowing what to expect on arrival makes the day smooth. When you reach Shegaon, go to the accommodation named in your confirmation and present a government photo ID for each adult guest. The staff will verify your booking against the details you were sent, so having that confirmation message open on your phone speeds things up. Any balance beyond the advance is typically settled at this point, and a security deposit may be taken and refunded at check-out.

Common booking mistakes to avoid
A few avoidable mistakes account for most booking trouble at any pilgrimage town. Steer clear of these and your booking will be straightforward:
- Paying before written confirmation. Always get the room, dates, amount and check-in timing in writing first.
- Assuming an online rate is final. Published rates are guidance; confirm the actual tariff for your dates.
- Not clarifying per room versus per person. Ask explicitly to avoid a surprise at check-in.
- Leaving festival dates to the last minute. Book one to three weeks ahead for peak periods.
- Paying a “donation” to a personal number. Donations belong only with the Sansthan’s official channels.
Cancellations and date changes
Plans change, especially with elders and children in the group, and that is normal. Each booking’s written confirmation states the cancellation terms for your specific dates. As a general rule, cancelling well ahead of check-in allows a full refund of the advance, while cancelling at the last moment or not showing up may mean the advance is retained, since the room was held for you.
